I would just like to quickly wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

Well, it’s been snowing all day. Already, the snow is piling up pretty high. I am not good at estimating, but we are on track to receive 6-10 inches by the end of the day. (Maybe more, I don’t know) This is the ’small’ storm and the ‘big’ storm is coming Saturday night and into Sunday. I love snow and all, but that is a bad time to get a storm. I will be (attempting) to fly out of Harrisburg around noon on Sunday, so we will see what happens. In the meantime, I have taken a lot of pictures! Pictures just don’t do it justice.

Finals are nearly over. I think that I have done very well so far. The only final that I have left is in theater. It’s a completely worthless class with a horrible professor. I can’t wait to get it over with. After that, I will be heading back home for about a month.

One good thing that came from the few days of downtime is that the level of spam that I am receiving in my e-mail has decreased to almost zero. I am getting about 20 spam messages per day, whereas a week ago, I was getting hundreds (some days, even 400 messages) of spam messages a day. I have been able to actually read some of the email that I receive. I used to accidentally delete a lot of mail.

Well, the snow is almost all gone. There are a couple of patches here and there, but it’s mostly dry. We received some freezing rain and ice this morning, but it has cleared up. However, there is a winter storm watch out for tomorrow that states that we may see 5-8in. of snow before tomorrow night. I am excited that we will be receiving a lot of snow, but I am disappointed that a lot of it will fall after I leave. Our travel will probably not be delayed, as we plan on leaving early in the morning.
Lastly, I have another picture album online. On the 7th, it was snowing. I was trying to take pictures of the snowflakes rather than the buildings. I believe that some of them turned out pretty well, especially considering that this was my first real attempt at taking pictures of something that is moving very fast. I took about 3/4ths of the pictures in P (auto) mode and about 1/4th in S (manual shutter speed) mode. If I have time tomorrow, I will attempt to do this again. The picture below is not the best in the set, so check out the rest of the set!

The recent downtime was not due to the server being down. Rather, it was due to a server switch. However, I did not receive the emails that were sent to me notifying me that we were switching servers. Not only did I not have my files backed up from the old server, but I also did not update the DNS settings to point to the new server. So I had to obtain a backup of my files and then configure my settings on the new server.

Well, it’s nearly finals week and I need to get studying. I have uploaded a lot of new pictures to my Picasa album, including ones of the snow that we have been receiving here. Check out my Picasa page here.
